Anthony Russo, co-director of “Avengers: Endgame,” has wrapped a sale of one of his two midcentury modern homes. His cool home in Los Angeles sold for $2.05 million, Variety reported. The property was offered on its own or as a package deal with an adjoining home Russo also owns.
The buyer apparently just decided to go with the single house, and paid slightly less than the original asking price of $2.185 million. The two-level residence, which was built in 1949, landed on the market in November.
The writer and producer picked up the place for $901,000 in 2011. He then embarked on a renovation and upgraded systems and infrastructure throughout the home.
However, he did retain a few original elements, including the metal kitchen cabinets and the original hardwood floors.
The home is located in a gated enclave in Brush Canyon on the edges of Los Feliz and Beachwood Canyon, and its interior space features three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and 2,094 square feet. The layout includes a large living room and dining room filled with walls of windows, as well as an eat-in kitchen.
On the main floor, you’ll find the master bedroom and en suite bath, plus two more bedrooms and bathrooms. The lower level consists of a studio, bathroom, laundry, and storage.
Outdoors, you’ll find a Zen-like garden, desert landscaping, a fire pit, and a kidney-shaped pool. A pergola covers the outside dining area.
Russo placed the two properties on the market after a splashy purchase of the 1913 Pasadena property called Arden Villa, for $15,579,500.
That striking, 2.4-acre estate has been memorialized as the backdrop of the 1980s prime-time soap opera “Dynasty,” and first came on the market in 2017 for $25 million.
Russo, who is 50, is one half of the Russo brothers duo. He and Joseph Russo have directed four installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe together, most recently, “Avengers: Infinity War” and last year’s “Endgame,” which became the highest-grossing movie of all time.
Richard Von Ernst with Compass represented the seller.
