Knicks’ Kemba Walker Sells Massachusetts Mansion 2 Years After Buying It

Just two years after purchasing a 1.5-acre lot of land to build a sprawling 9,592-square-foot home, former Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker has sold his mansion in Brookline, MA.

The three-time NBA All-Star closed on the property at 37 Sears Road on Oct. 26 for an undisclosed amount, according to a filing with the Norfolk County Registry District of the Land Court. The sale price is reportedly more than the $11.25 million Walker paid for the property back in 2019.

Samantha Stumpo, the founder of Newbrook Realty Group, was the listing broker for the off-market sale of the luxury six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home, which was built by C. Stumpo Development. It was the second time she has sold the property.

According to the listing details, luxury appointments of the stately home included columns and casings carved of limestone, along with a porte-cochere with 10-foot high custom iron doorways. The home sits on a secluded lot with the potential for estate expansion for the new owner.

Inside, the open foyer welcomes guests with an eye-popping double bridal staircase leading to the second floor. A grand kitchen features high-end appliances and cabinetry, along with a separate prep kitchen.

There’s also an au pair suite, a paneled library with 11-foot ceilings, and oversized windows throughout. The master suite on the second floor is described as “palatial,” and there are four en suite bedrooms on this upper floor—each with 14-foot tray ceilings.

Walker purchased the home after signing a four-year, $141 million contract with the Boston Celtics in 2019. He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in June, but wound up with the New York Knicks, after the Thunder bought out his contract. The four-time All-Star has struggled with the Knicks, which recently reduced his role.

Walker’s home is located in the same neighborhood as a number of other notable athletes’. One of the largest sales in the area was Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s 12,112-square-foot megamansion located at 112 Woodland Road, which sold for an undisclosed amount at the tail end of 2020.
