A suburban home in Sewickley, PA, given a rustic, modern update on HGTV’s “Restored by the Fords” recently landed on the market for $569,000. The work the sibling duo performed for the cameras paid off—the home is pending sale after just three weeks on the market.

The premise of the home’s TV makeover by brother-sister design and renovation gurus Steve and Leanne Ford was to take a longtime family home and give it a modern refresh. In the Season 1 episode titled “A Childhood Home Transformed,” we learn the adult daughter purchased the home from her parents when they wanted to downsize. The Fords were tasked with bringing the home built in 1981 out of the ’80s and giving it a fresh, family-friendly feel for contemporary living.

The owners, both physicians, gave the Fords a $120,000 budget and let them get to work. The team focused on tackling the downstairs, pulling up the old tile and wood floors, knocking down walls, and designing a modern kitchen. The highlight of the reveal was the espresso-stained wood mounted on the ceilings for a high-drama effect.

From the artistic, stylish light fixtures to the sleek, clean white walls, the final result offers a distinct bohemian bungalow feel in Western Pennsylvania

The large home sits on over an acre and has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, so there’s plenty of space indoors and out for kids to run and play.

There’s no word on why the owners have decided to part with the home that’s been in the family for decades. But a buyer will walk away with an HGTV-approved renovation—without the hassle of hammers and camera crews.

The duo’s start in the business sounds as easy and natural as their TV banter. After 15 years of working in fashion, Leanne decided to recruit her talented and handy brother Steve to create masterpieces out of some of the funkiest spaces around Pittsburgh. People loved their work and just kept hiring them. Now, they have their own show and a book they wrote together, titled “Work in Progress.”
