Avril Lavigne and ex-husband Chad Kroeger are still trying to sell their Sherman Oaks, CA, mansion. It’s come back on the market with another price cut—now listed for $6.49 million.
The couple purchased the place in 2015 for $5,995,000, just months before their split. The home eventually came up for sale in 2018, but the splitsville couple can’t seem to quit their joint real estate investment.
It made its debut with a price of $7.9 million, before dropping to $7.49 million at the beginning of 2019. Even with this week’s deeper discount, there’s only one pricier single family home in Sherman Oaks currently on the market.
The willingness to slash the price shows that the pop star and the Nickelback frontman are ready to “Let Go.”
As we reported this spring, the 10,000-square-foot home has every possible amenity.
Set on a corner half-acre lot, the spacious home has six bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms. The grand entry opens to the living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, a fireplace, and double staircase.
The formal dining room features a fireplace and wet bar. The kitchen includes Sub-Zero fridges, a Viking range, and walk-in pantry. The kitchen looks out to a casual eating area and family room.
The master retreat comes with a walk-in closet, luxurious bathroom, and private staircase to a gym and office.
Above the three-car garage is a home theater, bath, and lounge area. And a newly built attic comes with a spacious bonus room with skylights, bar, and rec area.
Outside, the landscaped grounds are fully fenced and gated with a circular drive and motor court. A patio with a motorized roof allows guests to dine in comfort. Other amenities include a gas fireplace, fire pit, and bar area with a built-in barbecue.
The fun keeps going with a saltwater pool and spa, as well as a sport court.
This isn’t the first home Lavigne has sold after a divorce. The singer was married to fellow Canadian rocker Deryck Whibley. After their split in 2010, the couple put their swanky Bel Air mansion on the market for $9.5 million in 2011. That 12,000-square-foot luxury manse was eventually purchased by the NBA’s Chris Paul for $8.5 million in 2012. Paul unloaded the property in 2017 after moving from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Houston Rockets.
Lavigne, who hit the music scene as a teenager, is now the third best-selling Canadian musician of all time. The pop-punk queen has sold over 40 million albums and over 50 million singles worldwide.
